About the artist

Anna Kubach-Wilmsen and Wolfgang Kubach have been collaborating as stone sculptors since 1968. They’ve completed large-sized sculptures at home and abroad and participated in numerous international symposia on stone sculpture. Their works have been shown in exhibitions worldwide, including Japan and the USA. Since 1996 they have been working on a sculpture park in Bad Münster am Stein, in collaboration with the Japanese architect Tadao Ando. To facilitate this project they created the Fondation Kubach-Willmsen Museum and the stone sculpture park in Bad Münster am Stein in 1998. The Kubach-Willmsen oeuvre is a 40 year old homage to stone as an organic material and architecture supplied by nature. Their work exclusively considers stone as an archetype, which the artists consider to be a relic of a millennia-long natural history.
